We had a wonderful stay at CHD! We have stayed at other Negombo hotels before and found CHD to be a really special unique place. We got an exceptionally good deal (60%) normal price for Junior suite: giving plenty of space with lounge, and lovely view across pool and to the sea. Bathroom was spacious and clean, and functioned well, with walk in shower, separate bath and double basins. Couldn’t comment on standard rooms or Villas. This allowed us to enjoy the rest of the Hotel’s delights: - Extensive, beautifully designed and well looked after grounds, with lovely water features, small and large courtyards and paths. Especially pretty at Christmas with the lights. Can’t believe was built in 1978 and renovated 2011. - Lovely sandy beach – essentially private even though not technically private. We loved the cove created by the rocks on the southern end. - Love the way the large pool has sections, shallow and deep and a permanent volley ball net on one, and a second pool at the Northern end for those looking for quiet space. Check out the second hand book library! - Nice poolside bar, and inner side café. - Great extensive meal time buffets, with choices of European, Sri Lankan and Asian foods, and nicely presented choices of salads and tasty desserts. - Staff are wonderful – friendly. constantly attentive and helpful, and work really hard to make guests feel relaxed. - The friendly and helpful “Animation Team” run a regular series of activities, and exercise classes, and work well to engage adults and children alike. - We used their squash court, and archery, but also has Tennis, Table Tennis, well equipped gym, health spa with treatments, and massages etc. - Lovely little set of hotel shops with friendly keepers.

Lovely big hotel. Quiet area near river on one side and beach on the other. Lots of activities throughout the day by the Animation team. Good evening etertainment. Buffet breakfast and dinner. Breakfast was brilliant with lots of western choice and also Sri Lankan. Dinner was OK. Lots of availability of drinking water battles in room, daily and also easily available at all the bars. This is a big plus as no shops closeby to buy water from and also a big help during meals if not on Fully Inc. This was a big plus for us. ALL staff were super pleasant and very hard working, always willing to help and always with a smile and greeted you whenever they pass-by. Pools were great and clean, specially the pool at the far end near the Archery court. Pools staff very extra pleasant and helpful moving sunbeds and opening umbrellas. Nice big book library, if you are stuck for reading material. Gave us a present when leaving, unexpected !

The hotel itself was beautiful and quite spacious, felt luxurious. Loved the huge pool area and the beach beyond the pool. All gardens were well maintained. They've had activities each day for all age groups from morning till night, which I thought it was great to keep everyone occupied and engaged. Haven't seen that in other hotels yet. Enjoyed the various cuisines served in buffet with an exceptional Oxtail soup. The staff was fantastic polite friendly and courteous. I experienced a booking issue, which was handled by Lakmal very professionally and he ensured that everyone is happy and having a great time. I appreciated his creative thinking in finding solutions and adding small gestures to celebrate milestones and going the extra mile. Thanks!

The hotel area has everything you need for a nice holiday. Pool area is huge and there is a beautiful view to the ocean. Also the Beach just few steps to the left is very good for swimming. Right in front of the hotel the waves are too big, but you don’t need to walk far to find a nice and safety spot. The breakfast in the hotel is good, and the staff is really friendly and helpful. It made me to smile and cry a bit when we got to the hotel with our son with broken arm in the cast and he got ”get well soon” -card and a Fruit plate when we arrived 🩷 These little things matter so much to get the feeling we are welcomed.
